Reflexology is an holistic healing technique that works by applying pressure on relevant parts of the hands and feet. This channels the body’s own natural healing powers to correct any imbalance, remove harmful toxins, improve nerve function and blood supply and leave the body feeling relaxed, refreshed and revitalised.

Reflexology is thought to have originated around the same time as acupuncture, in about 4000BC and was practised in ancient India and among native Americans.

Reflexology is based on the principle that there are areas, or reflex points, on the hands and feet that correspond to each organ, gland and structure in the body. The therapy works on the Ten Energy Zones within the body that run from head to toe down each arm into the fingers and down each leg into the toes. Through working these reflexes any imbalance in the body can be detected and then brought back into balance. Apart from treating disease, reflexology is an extremely effective therapy in cases of stress, tension and tiredness. And, like acupuncture, it can also be used as a preventative measure against ill health.
