I have worked in a variety of settings including a local authority, university, NSPCC and primary care in a GP practice covering a wide range of issues. I am an accredited member of BACP (MBACP). I offer both short term counselling and longer term psychotherapy using an integrative approach which is based around each individual clients specific needs rather than a one size fits all approach.

I work with individuals and couples. I am also BUPA, Right CoreCare and Aviva registered.

Therapies offered

Specialist Areas

A wide range of issues are brought to therapy such as anxiety, low mood, relationships, abuse, trauma, family (this is not a finite list).

Regardless of the difficulty however, the way in which we make sense of the world and how we relate to ourselves and others usually underpins this. I can offer a safe and confidential environment to explore these issues. Therapy offers a unique opportunity for developing greater awareness and insight about the way we relate to others (and how we are related to) with the potential for change and new experiences.

I have particular interest in working with trauma, adult effects of childhood abuse, women’s wellbeing and health during pregnancy, fertility treatments and mother/infant attachment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Leeds Metropolitan University
  • BSc(hons) Therapeutic Counselling
  • Post graduate certificate undertaken in integrative psychotherapy (child specialism)
  • Advanced training in Trauma, Dissociation and effects of childhood abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, neglect) in adulthood (www.isst-d.org)

I am a member of the Jung Centre Houston, regularly undertaking their trainings.
