For the past 20 years Tessa has worked as a specialist Speech and Language Therapist in NHS hospitals, rehabilitation units, outpatient clinics and in patients’ own homes. At ACT for Yorkshire Ltd she now provides a specialist independent service for adults with disorders of communication and swallowing resulting from a neurological condition.

She offers Speech and Language Therapy to people who have had a stroke, a head injury, or a diagnosis of a progressive neurological condition (such as Parkinson’s Disease, MND, Huntington’s Disease and M.S.) .

Tessa treats people with Aphasia (problems with understanding, talking, reading, or writing), with Dysarthria or Dyspraxia (problems with articulation, slurred, hesitant or quiet speech) and with associated Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). She is Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) certified and can offer this intensive treatment as recommended in the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

Flexible.
Core clinic hours are Monday to Thursday: 9.30am – 2.30pm
