Mervyn has worked as a qualified counsellor since 2003 and currently practises in the NHS and in private practise. He also has experience of working in mental health counselling and therapy services, as a staff counsellor in the NHS, for employee assistance programmes and in a charity working with bereaved people.

He has been an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2006 and gained Senior Accredited Status in 2013. He is also a Registered BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist and adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework.

Mervyn is an integrative practitioner combining elements from psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive approaches and deploys them in a flexible way in order to meet individual needs. In addition, Mervyn has a keen interest in, and works with, the concept of the ‘inner child’.

  • MA in Counselling
  • Graduate Diploma in Counselling (a BACP accredited course)
