What is Mindfulness

Mindfulness is inviting yourself to befriend and inhabit your body in awareness and be in the present moment. In this day and age we live in a 24/7 culture with continuous demands on our senses and attention; filling us with desires for ‘things’, more experiences and striving for ‘happiness’. We have developed an epidemic tendency of being disconnected from our own body and the messages it gives us. Our minds are swamped with repeated thoughts. This constantly pushes/pulls us into: the past ‘if only!’ : the future ‘what if?’. This results in subsequent stress, anxiety, depression, pain and dissatisfaction with how life is. You are rarely living in the freshness of the present moment.

Mindfulness encourages you to be observant of yourself and your experiences without making a judgment about them. Mindfulness creates the opportunity for you to find pleasure in everyday activities and discover who you truly are. You see that you have a choice to ‘get out of your mind’, finding self compassion, generosity, joy and purpose.

By practicing mindful walking, eating, breathing, body awareness and developing a sense of surrender/letting go, you can experience illuminating insights and this can alleviate stress anxiety and dissatisfaction. Get the Meditation Habit supports you through a 6 week programme to embrace new possibilities of mindful being.

It doesn’t matter what age you are, this course in mindfulness can be truly life changing.
