Consultation Procedure

If you are new to The Orchard here are some details to explain our Consultation Procedure:

Clients looking for psychotherapy or counselling can make an appointment with The Orchard for a Consultation with a therapist.
This may be done by phone to: 0330 050 1620 or by completing the Consultation Request Form below.

Once a date for the Consultation has been agreed, we will send you a letter confirming the details and will include a questionnaire for you to complete and bring with you to your meeting.

The Consultation will last up to one hour and will be held with one of the counsellors/psychotherapists based at The Orchard. The Consultation is time set aside by you and the therapist to look at what has encouraged you to seek help. This might include talking about past and present life events, feelings, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. The therapist will do his/her best to help you to identify your issues and workout the best course of action for you.

Talking about these issues takes time and may only be touched on during the Consultation. If you decide you would like to book further sessions following the Consultation you may choose to see the same therapist, providing your availability coincides or you will be referred on to a different therapist who matches your needs and who can see you at the time you are available.

Consultations are payable by cheque or bank transfer prior to the appointment, or by cash or card on arrival. Prices for further counselling or psychotherapy sessions may be discussed during the Consultation.

There are other options for those on low incomes or unemployed.

Please be assured that any details submitted here will be read by a counsellor in confidence.
