I am a Systemic Family Therapist accredited by the UK Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP). I have worked with children, young people and families for twenty years in health, education and social services settings. For the last thirteen years I have worked in a variety of child and adolescent mental health teams, including four years working specifically with young people who use self-harm and their families.
I also have experience of work with young people with low mood and depression, and those experiencing anxiety and difficulties with eating. I have worked with survivors of domestic abuse and young people who have been abused. I am experienced in working with families who are separated. I work with couples, families in various combinations, and with individuals.

I have taught Systemic Family Therapy to Masters degree level at the University of Leeds and contributed to the training of Clinical Psychologists and Psychiatrists. I have taught undergraduate Social Workers at Leeds and York Universities. I have co-presented workshops at the Association of Family Therapy national conferences. I have also published an article in the Association of Family Therapy magazine ‘Context’.

In my private work I have seen families where parents have separated and there are concerns around contact with children. I continue to work part time within the NHS and to offer private work at the Orchard.
